Honorary Member
A program for an individual who is an outstanding contributor to any of PVA's programs or activities through a PVA chapter or the National Office, and is not necessarily eligible for any other membership program. This lifetime membership may be bestowed upon an individual by a chapter or the National organization.
Eligibility
Honorary Life Membership may be conferred by the chapter upon any individual who is considered worthy of that honor. The chapter thus recognizes an individual who has contributed significantly to the chapter's programs or administration. In most instances, the recognition is made to a person who is not otherwise eligible for membership in Paralyzed Veterans of America; however, a chapter may also recognize one of its own members in such a manner.
Dues
There shall be no dues sent to the National organization, but a notification of the Honorary Life member's name and date conferred should be sent for purposes of issuing an Honorary Life card.
Benefits
The Honorary Life Member shall be entitled to membership in PVA for the rest of his natural life. He shall receive a permanent membership card and be entitled to any of the other rights and privileges as set forth in the bylaws of the chapter to which he belongs so long as they do not conflict with the Bylaws or Standing Rules of the National organization. However, honorary members do not have voting privileges.
Administration
Permanent Honorary Life Membership cards shall be furnished by the National Office upon notification by the chapter. The chapter will be required to maintain its own records on its Honorary members. The chapter will give official notice to the Paraplegia News and will pay a regular subscription fee annually for the Honorary member.
